Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple Discovered to be Filled With Vast Treasure

On Saturday a Hindu temple in Southern Indian was discovered to be filled with a plethora of gold, coins, jewels, and other precious stones. Kerala Chief Secretary K. Jayakumar stated that the estimated value of the temple’s riches to be over $11 billion, or 500 billion rupees. This abundant source of wealth has thrust the temple into the list of most valuable temples in the nation.

The treasures that consist of thousands of pieces of jewelery was found in Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple within at least 5 underground vaults. Even more exciting is that one vault still remains to be opened. “We are yet to open one more secret chamber which has not been opened for nearly 140 years,” said Jayakumar.

On a side historical note, Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple was built hundreds of years ago by the king of Travancore to honor Vishnu.
